Actor, writer and director Lena Dunham (“Girls”) and “Queer Eye” host Antoni Porowski were among the high-profile visitors enjoying a Maine summer recently, sharing parts of their visits on social media.

Dunham shared on Instagram that she had recently been in Cushing, where she and her friend Allissa Bennett recreated Andrew Wyeth’s 1948 painting “Christina’s World” by positioning themselves in the same field that inspired the artist’s famous work.

The post shows a photo of Wyeth’s painting juxtaposed with one of Bennett and Dunham partially reclined and facing the Olson House.

In the post, Dunham wrote that it was her first time back in Maine since attending Fernwood Cove Camp, a summer camp for girls in Harrison. Dunham’s 2014 memoir “Not That Kind of Girl,” references her time at the camp.

The post also features an image taken from a car of the Taste of Maine restaurant in Woolwich, which features a gigantic lobster on the roof.

Dunham wrote and starred in the hit HBO series “Girls” from 2012-2017. Her second memoir, “Famesick,” was published earlier this year.

“Queer Eye’s” food and wine expert Antoni Porowski also shared photos and video clips on Instagram from a recent sailing excursion aboard the schooner Ladona, based in Rockland.

Porowski’s post features a black and white portrait, plates of steamed lobsters, friends jumping off the schooner into the water, a video of lobsters being steamed on a rocky shore and several people pitching in to help sail the boat, among other footage.

Dunham and Porowski each have more than 3 million followers on Instagram. Both posts have tens of thousands of “likes” and hundreds of comments.
