Corey Collins singled to center with two outs and the bases loaded in the sixth inning Wednesday, and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies held on for a 2-1 victory against the visiting Portland Sea Dogs.

Sea Dogs starter Hayden Mullins allowed one hit and struck out eight over five scoreless innings, but Binghamton loaded the bases in the sixth against Patrick Halligan on two walks and an infield single. Collins then lined his hit up the middle, driving in the tying and go-ahead runs.

The Sea Dogs took the lead in the third when Ahbram Liendo reached on an infield single, stole second, moved to third on Nelly Taylor’s grounder to short and scored on a sacrifice fly to center by Franklin Arias.

Each team managed only four hits, with Collins getting two for the Rumble Ponies.

The series resumes Thursday night and continues through Sunday before Portland returns home to meet the Harrisburg Senators in the opener of a six-game series on Tuesday.
