Approximately 1,000 Central Maine Power Customers Lose Electricity During Monday Afternoon

AUGUSTA, Maine — Roughly 1,000 homes and businesses served by Central Maine Power were without electricity as of Monday afternoon, according to the utility company.

CMP reported the outage at 2:30 p.m., though the cause of the power interruption remained unclear Monday afternoon. The utility did not immediately estimate when service might be restored to affected customers.

Central Maine Power is the largest electricity provider in Maine, serving approximately 600,000 customers across the state. The company urges anyone experiencing an outage to report it through their website or mobile app.
