Cony High School shortstop Parker Morin was named the Dr. John Winkin Award winner on Thursday as the best senior baseball player in the state.
Morin capped his stellar senior year of athletics by helping the Rams reach the Class B state championship game. He hit .618 with 42 hits, 45 RBI and eight home runs. He also went 3-1 on the mound with a 1.94 ERA.
He was a finalist for the Fitzpatrick Trophy, given to the top senior football player in Maine after leading the Rams to a berth in the Class B state final, and also a Mr. Maine Basketball semifinalist after helping the Rams reach the Class B North title game.

Other finalists were: South Portland left-handed pitcher Hudson Iacuessa, Fryeburg Academy shortstop Alex Allain, Old Orchard Beach shortstop Trot Moody, Messalonskee first baseman Denny Martin, Mt. Desert Island shortstop Collin Sullivan, Ellsworth first baseman Jackson Barry, Dexter/Piscataquis shortstop Brady Gaw and Katahdin shortstop Calvin Richardson.
