Police responded around 7:41 a.m. after the driver crossed the centerline, left the roadway and crashed into the apartment building, according to Windham police. The driver died at the scene.
Route 115 (Tandberg Trail) was temporarily closed to traffic. Residents in the apartment building and nearby residences were evacuated and power was disconnected in the North Windham area as a safety precaution.
