Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach Urges GOP Voters to Turn Out at Dallas Convention

In a televised interview on Thursday, Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach told Newsmax that the Republican National Committee’s mid‑term convention in Dallas is a critical opportunity to energize voters for the November elections. Kobach cautioned that if the Democratic Party gains a majority in Congress, it could usher in a “radical shift” in policy that would affect the state and the nation.

Kobach said the convention’s agenda—including speeches by top GOP officials and a platform proposal—could serve as a rallying point for conservative voters. He stressed that turnout in the November polls would determine whether the Republican Party maintains control of key legislative bodies.

Speaking to Newsmax’s political correspondent, Kobach emphasized the stakes: “The Democratic Party could push a radical shift in policy if they take control of Congress,” he said, underscoring his belief that the outcome of the mid‑term elections will shape the country’s political direction for years to come.

The Dallas convention, scheduled for the week of August 5, will feature speeches from the Republican Party’s leadership, policy debates, and the adoption of a new party platform. Kobach’s comments come as the party works to galvanize voters in swing states and to counter the momentum that the Democratic Party has been building ahead of the upcoming elections.

The Attorney General’s remarks were met with both support and criticism. GOP supporters praised his emphasis on voter turnout, while Democrats have called his warnings overblown, arguing that bipartisan cooperation remains possible even if they secure a congressional majority.

As the convention approaches, both parties are preparing campaigns aimed at capturing the attention of voters across the country, each hoping to secure the electoral advantage in the upcoming mid‑term elections.
