Midcoast students receive Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union scholarships

Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union recently announced the recipients of its annual Rochel “Russ” Livernois Memorial Scholarship program, awarding four $2,500 scholarships to outstanding local high school seniors. This year’s winners have demonstrated exceptional academic achievements, community involvement and a strong commitment to pursuing higher education. (Courtesy photo) Two Midcoast students were chosen for the LCFCU scholarship: Lilliana Larochelle, of Freeport High School, and Samuel Liudvinaitis, of Lisbon High School. Larochelle plan to attend Plymouth State University and study exercise science. Liudvinaitis plans to attend the University of Maine at Augusta and study library science. (Courtesy photo) “We are incredibly proud of these remarkable students,” said Sarah Perkins, president/CEO of the credit union. “Their dedication and passion for making a positive impact in their communities are truly inspiring. We are honored to support them as they take the next steps in their educational journeys.” Liam Ennis, of Monmouth Academy, and Isabella Rich, of Maine Connections Academy, were also awarded scholarships. Ennis plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono and study electrical engineering. Rich plans to attend the New England Institute of Technology and study welding. (Courtesy photo) The Lisbon Credit Union developed the Rochel “Russ” Livernois Scholarship Fund in 2000 to help local graduating seniors realize their dreams. Livernois served as treasurer/manager from the credit union’s beginning in 1959 through 1985. The scholarship fund honors his years of service and dedication.
