NFL legend Rob Gronkowski details Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's 'magnificent' wedding
When NFL legend Rob Gronkowski walked into Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's wedding, he expected a spectacle. What he found, he said, was something surprisingly personal.
Gronkowski, the former New England Patriots tight end and four-time Super Bowl champion, was among roughly 1,000 guests at the ceremony uniting the Kansas City Chiefs star and the global pop icon. Despite the enormous crowd—which Gronkowski called the largest wedding he had ever attended—he described the event as remarkably intimate.
"It was awesome. It really was. It was a magnificent wedding. It was a big one, but it really felt very lovey-dovey," Gronkowski told Fox News Digital in a recent interview.
The 34-year-old Kelce, who is preparing for his 14th NFL season, and Swift, whose Eras Tour has captivated audiences worldwide, have been one of the most high-profile couples in recent years. Their union drew a guest list that read like a who's who of celebrities and sports stars. Gronkowski said the sheer number of famous faces was overwhelming.
"I have never [seen so many celebrities]. I've been to a lot of events. It was definitely the biggest, most impactful one I've ever been to with just so many people that you turn around and you say, 'Wow, wow. Wow. Like that's that person,'" he said.
Yet, Gronkowski emphasized, the couple managed to foster an atmosphere of closeness despite the scale. "Very intimate. That's what it did for how big of a wedding it was," he explained. "For such a large-scale wedding, it was very intimate."
The former Patriots great also praised the newlyweds for the effort behind the celebration. "It was A+. It really was. So, congratulations to Taylor and Travis on not just all the love and positive energy that they're bringing to the table but to be able to throw a wedding like that takes so much time and effort. To be able to put that together and make it such a great experience for everyone is very appreciated," he said.
At the time of the interview, conducted in partnership with eBay, Gronkowski said he had not yet reached out to Kelce following the nuptials. However, he did not hide his admiration for his fellow NFL great, highlighting Kelce's longevity and continued success on the field.
The wedding, while grand in scale, left a lasting impression on Gronkowski for its ability to blend opulence with warmth—a rare feat for an event of its size, he suggested.
