No. 1 in Varsity Maine softball poll goes the distance in 2026

The Stags followed through and finished off an undefeated (20-0) with a 3-2 win over Hampden Academy in the Class A championship, and they are still atop the Varsity Maine poll, as they were ranked every week this spring — and they were the unanimous No. 1 in all but two polls. [Class B champion Medomak Valley](https://www.centralmaine.com/2026/06/20/medomak-valley-softball-rolls-to-class-b-title-repeat/) finishes as the state’s No. 2 team, while [Class C champ Dirigo](https://www.sunjournal.com/2026/06/20/dirigo-softball-defeats-bucksport-for-class-c-title/) is ranked ninth.
