WELLS – Jeanne Randall, a woman whose life spanned nearly a century and touched countless lives through her warmth, entrepreneurial spirit, and unwavering devotion to family, died on August 11, 2026, at the age of 94.

Born Marie Jeanne Marquis in Springvale, she was the daughter of Louis Salime Marquis and Angeline (Chabot) Marquis. Growing up alongside her brothers Roger and the late Louis, Jr., Jeanne developed the strong family values that would define her entire life.

After graduating from Sanford High School in 1949, Jeanne pursued her passion for beauty and style, attending a Boston beauty academy before opening a hair salon in her parents' home. Her entrepreneurial journey continued when she married Andre Chabot in 1954. The couple lived in Washington, D.C., during Andre's Army service, then returned to Sanford to operate the family dairy business.

Jeanne and Andre raised four children together: Martin, David, Anne, and Peter. A devoted mother, she treasured her role as grandmother most of all, always ready with a warm embrace for her grandchildren: Elise and Ryan Biette, Jessica and Tyler Smith, and Jordan and Ariana Chabot.

In the 1980s, Jeanne embraced a new adventure as hostess at an upscale restaurant in Perkins Cove, Ogunquit, where her warm personality made her a favorite among diners.

Following her marriage to Norman Randall in 1988, Jeanne embarked on remarkable travels, spending over four years living in Saudi Arabia and visiting China, Syria, Scotland, and Austria. Upon returning to the United States in the early 1990s, she split her time between winters in Nokomis, Florida, and summers in Wells, where she could often be found taking daily beach walks to the jetty well into her 80s.

For the past four years, Jeanne resided at the Avita of Wells memory care neighborhood. Her family expressed deep gratitude to the dedicated staff there, as well as to Beacon Hospice Care and the York Hospital staff for their compassionate care.

A private family service is planned. Arrangements are being handled by Black Heald and Walker Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Sanford Springvale.
