Obituary: Jeffrey Alan “Jeff” Vincent
Jeffrey Alan “Jeff” Vincent, a longtime Westbrook resident and devoted family man, passed away on Aug. 14, 2026, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a prolonged illness. He was 61.
Vincent was born on Aug. 31, 1964, in Omaha, Neb., and moved to Maine as an infant, calling the state home for most of his life. He graduated from Windham High School in 1982 and, shortly thereafter, enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Serving as a Machinist’s Mate aboard the submarine USS Will Rogers, Vincent completed an honorable eight‑year career before leaving the Navy in 1991.
In 1985, Vincent married his college sweetheart, Karen Wormwood. The couple celebrated 41 years of marriage this July, a milestone that reflected their deep partnership and shared life's journey.
After his military service, Vincent built a career in technology, eventually becoming an IT specialist at Maine Medical Center, where he contributed for nearly two decades. Colleagues remembered him for his reliable problem‑solving skills and his willingness to help peers navigate complex technical challenges.
Beyond his professional life, Vincent was a familiar presence at local community events and cherished time spent with his family. He delighted in his grandchildren, Jonah and Eleanor “Nora” Lambert, often sharing stories and laughter during family gatherings.
Vincent is survived by his wife, Karen; his daughter, Jennifer Lambert, and her husband, Blake, both of Westbrook; his son, Zachary Vincent, and his partner, Hayley SmithRose, of Scarborough; and his two grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Shelly Wormwood (and husband Kyle) and Julie Gannon (and partner Jesse Wigner), all of Virginia; his brother‑in‑law, Kevin Wormwood (and wife Gail) of Limington; his uncles Johnny Peck and Gary Peck, both of Nebraska; a host of nieces including Sarah Engel, Ellen Warren, Paige Bougie, Bailey Wormwood, Avery Amabile, Molly Gannon, and Abigail Gannon; and his faithful dog, Buster.
Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, William C. and DeAnn J. (Peck) Vincent, and his nephew, Noah Gannon.
The family expressed gratitude to the staff at New England Cancer Specialists and the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for the compassionate care Vincent received during his illness.
