Topsham Woman, Judith “Judy” Davis, Dies at 75
TOPSHAM – Judith “Judy” Davis, a longtime resident of Topsham who spent more than five decades in Maine’s banking and credit‑union sector, died on August 15, 2026, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick. She was 75 years old.
Davis was born in Brunswick on July 18, 1951, to Stan and Ginny Davis. She grew up in neighboring Freeport, graduated from Freeport High School in 1969, and later built a career that combined financial expertise with a deep commitment to community service.
A Career in Finance
For many years, Davis worked in banking and credit‑union operations, taking pride in the professional foundation she established. Colleagues recall her meticulous attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm for helping clients navigate their financial needs.
Devoted Animal Lover and Family Woman
Beyond her professional achievements, Davis was known for her love of animals. She shared her home with several cats and a beloved dog named Abby, and she often spoke of the comfort they provided throughout her life. Family gatherings were a cornerstone of her calendar; each year she hosted an annual “Sistahs’ Christmas Party,” a tradition that brought together her four sisters and countless relatives.
She is survived by her sisters – Dorothy Carrier of Harpswell, Roxie Farley and her husband Ken of Freeport, Sandy Rowe and her husband Dave of Freeport, and Bonnie Davis of Pownal – as well as her goddaughter, Cory Daly Schmidt, and a host of nieces and nephews whom she regarded as her own children.
Later Years and Adventure
In retirement, Davis embarked on a life‑changing journey with her goddaughter. The two traveled to South Africa, where they explored wildlife reserves, went on safaris, and created memories that would stay with them for years to come.
Memorial Service Set for September
A Celebration of Life honoring Davis will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at her former home, located at 105 Hunter Road in Freeport. The event will be an informal gathering for friends and family to share stories and reminisce.

Davis’s passing has left a void among her loved ones, but her legacy of professional dedication, heartfelt family bonds, and compassion for animals will endure. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
