![](https://www.pressherald.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2026/07/owens-601115.jpg) Rachel (Bergeron) Owens SACO – Rachel (Bergeron) Owens, 67, was born on April 3, 1959, to Lucienne (Brochu) and Roland Bergeron at Notre Dame Hospital in Biddeford, Maine. She graduated from Thornton Academy in Saco in 1977. She worked as a fork truck driver at the General Electric plant in South Portland, and worked as a baker in England, Germany and later in Londonderry, NH. She was an active community member in many of the various places that she lived, and she volunteered her time willingly. She is survived by her son Wayne, his wife Sarah (Corriveau) and their three awesome children, Evan, Sophie and Colin from Lincoln, RI. They were the center of her life from the time that Wayne was born until she passed. She was the best mother and grandmother a child could have. They came first in every aspect of her life, and she inspired in them the love of creating art and cooking for pleasure. She also was an attentive daughter to her parents, and she frequently visited her parents, her brother Raymond Bergeron of Wells, and his two boys Sean and Brian. She helped them cook meals, split firewood, mow lawns, clean house, shop for groceries; and when the chores were done, they would ride snowmobile, ATV’s, and play cards for hours. Rachel made many friends, who remained close throughout the years. They would travel together throughout the world and she often entertained them at her house in Londonderry, NH. She welcomed her friends and family to her home and shared her joy with everyone who wanted or needed joy in their lives. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the many employees at Summer Commons in Sanford, Maine, who took great care of Rachel during her final years. The family would also like to thank Marilou Lachance of Ocean Park and Claire Dube of Waterboro and for their frequent visits and love they gave to Rachel throughout her life. There will be a memorial service at The Pines, 10 Manor St, Ocean Park, Maine, from 1 to 4 p.m. on July 5, 2026. The internment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery later in the fall.
