School bus driver charged with manslaughter in Rockland student’s death, police say

The school bus driver involved in the crash that killed a 12-year-old student has been arrested and charged with manslaughter.
Rockland police arrested Jeffery Colburn, 65, of Camden, on Thursday, the department said in a news release, after a grand jury indictment and a warrant for his arrest was issued by the Knox County District Attorney’s Office.

Rockland Police Chief Tim Carroll warned the community in the days after the incident that the investigation would “be very time-consuming to ensure that we get it right.”
On Thursday, the department said that the investigation included interviews with “numerous witnesses,” reviewing records and consultation with experts.
