Hall-Dale and Brunswick Girls Soccer Teams Square Off in Preseason Tune-Up

FARMINGDALE, Maine — The Hall-Dale and Brunswick girls soccer teams met on the pitch Thursday afternoon for a preseason scrimmage, giving both squads an early look at where they stand with the regular season just around the corner.

The friendly match, played in Farmingdale, offered a chance for returning players to shake off the rust and for newcomers to get their first taste of high school competition. Photographs from the game capture the intensity and energy that both sides brought to the field throughout the afternoon.

Hall-Dale's Makayla Norton was shown dribbling past Brunswick defender Adeline Magenis, while Sidney Keleher of Hall-Dale battled Brunswick's Eira Jerome for possession. Fellow Bulldog Rylee Rowe handled pressure from Brunswick's Gwen Jerome, and later faced off against Magenis in a 50/50 challenge for the ball.

On the other side of the field, Brunswick showed its own offensive flair. Grace Roak managed to get a shot off past a Hall-Dale defender, and Nia Mena-Saucier pushed the ball upfield as the Dragons looked to build attacks from the back.

The scrimmage is part of the buildup to the upcoming fall season, when both Hall-Dale and Brunswick will compete in their respective conferences. Preseason games like this one typically serve as valuable teaching tools for coaches, who use the opportunity to evaluate lineups, test combinations and assess fitness levels before the games start to count.
