Sullivan motorcyclist dies in head-on Hancock collision

A Sullivan man riding a motorcycle died Friday morning in a head-on collision with a truck on Route 1 in Hancock, according to Maine State Police.
Forty-four-year-old Jim Hoyt was traveling west on the highway near Washington Junction, crossed into the other lane and hit a pickup truck about 8:30 a.m., police said.
Hoyt was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the truck sustained minor injuries.
Police say Hoyt was wearing a helmet. Maine State Police are investigating the crash.
