According to the Connecticut State Police, the collision occurred at about 5:39 a.m. on the segment of Route 44 near Twin Lakes Road in Salisbury. The truck, which was carrying a load of Michelob Ultra and Bud Light, veered off the road and overturned. The crash left the tractor‑trailer lying on its side and thousands of cans scattered across the roadway.
The police released photographs showing the overturned vehicle and the spilled cargo, and described the volume of debris as “large.” Because of the widespread spillage and the damaged truck, the Department of Transportation closed the roadway to all traffic until crews could safely remove the wreck and clean the site.

The incident disrupted travel on a major north‑south corridor in central Connecticut, but authorities say the traffic was rerouted efficiently and no injuries were reported. The cleanup effort, which involved coordination between state police and multiple local agencies, concluded when the tractor‑trailer was towed from the scene and the roadway was cleared of remaining cans and wreckage.
