Tukey's Bridge victim was attacked by cyclist while walking with friends, police say
Portland police are investigating after a homicide late Sunday night left a 21-year-old man dead and led to the arrest of a 58-year-old suspect.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of 180 Riverside Street shortly before 11 p.m., according to the Portland Police Department. When they arrived, they found Julian Nadeau, 21, suffering from gunshot wounds. Nadeau was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Based on information gathered during the initial investigation, police identified Glen Rodney, 58, of Portland, as a suspect. Rodney was located and taken into custody a short time later. He has since been charged with murder in connection with Nadeau's death.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation. Detectives are working to determine what, if any, relationship existed between the two men, and what may have prompted the violence.
