I am excited to support Hannah Pingree for governor. Hannah understands that investing in public education is one of the best investments we can make in Maine’s future.

Hannah has a thoughtful and comprehensive education plan to support our schools. She is committed to supporting teachers, addressing the teacher workforce shortage, expanding access to early childhood education, and ensuring that every student — regardless of where they live — has access to a high-quality education.

As a teacher, I know students learn in many ways. Hannah’s plan recognizes that students thrive when schools encourage and value creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving, alongside a strong foundation in reading, writing and math. A well-rounded education prepares young people not only for careers, but for meaningful and fulfilling lives.

She also recognizes that students learn best when they feel supported. Her commitment to expanding school-based mental health services and creating welcoming learning environments acknowledges that students cannot reach their full potential if their emotional and social needs are not met.

Teachers want to focus on helping students learn and grow. We need leaders who trust educators, listen to those working in our schools, and invest in the people and programs that make public education strong. Hannah Pingree has demonstrated that commitment. I believe she is the leader Maine’s students, teachers, and families deserve.
