CUMBERLAND – Madeline May Worrey passed away on June 18, 2026 after a long illness. She was 82. Born in Portland, the daughter of the late John E. Worrey and Edna Train, she lived in Cumberland and graduated from Greely Institute. She later began a 30-year career with the Maine Department of Human Services. Madeline enjoyed time at home with family, and did needlepoint, crochet and quilting. She loved dogs, her career with the State of Maine, as well as reading mystery novels. She was predeceased by her parents John and Edna Worrey; and her loving brother, Richard E. Maddox. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Lewis (Norman) of Cumberland, sister-in-law, Judith Maddox; nephew, Norman Lewis, and nieces Katrina Carstensen, Gail Wheelden, Laurie White, and Linda Googins. She will also be missed by several great-nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to her graveside service on Monday June 29 at 11 a.m. at Moss Side Cemetery in Cumberland.
